Handicraft, live music and fashion
The municipal park of Loulé and the square in front of the Duarte Pacheco monument will come alive next week (July 11-14) with two special events: Popular Fair and Stock & Chic.
The Popular Fair (Feira Popular) has become a summer classic in Loulé, shining the spotlight on traditional crafts and local sweets, including handicraft items made from palm, copper, and esparto, and sweets made from almonds, carob, and figs, as well as the popular medronho firewater from the Caldeirão mountains. The event also features a wealth of musical entertainment, with a focus on traditional music from across Portugal.
Meanwhile, Stock & Chic is an event that has been integrated into the fair, focusing more on fashion, make-up and hairstyling. “This initiative, organised by Loulé council in partnership with local businesses, aims to provide an engaging entertainment experience while encouraging shopkeepers to offer their products at attractive prices,” the municipal council says.
The events will begin at 7pm every day, ending at midnight on Thursday and Sunday (July 11 and 14) and at 1am on Friday and Saturday (July 12 and 13). Admission is free.
