Guimarães court has condemned a firefighter from Fafe to 10 years jail after he was accused of starting nine rural wildfires between 2022 and 2023. The court ruled that Pedro Costa, 32 – a former member of Fafe fire station – was the author of six of the nine fires. Costa, who remained silent throughout his trial, has been in preventive custody since his arrest in July last year. He will now remain behind bars.
