The Portuguese surfing delegation that will be participating in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games had an eventful trip to French Polynesia, the venue for the sport’s competitions, coach David Raimundo told Lusa on Monday. The delegation was scheduled to leave Lisbon airport on Friday at 11.10 a.m. but only arrived in Tahiti two days later, on Sunday at 5.15 a.m. local time (3.15 p.m. in Lisbon), with two stopovers in London and Los Angeles, due to the Microsoft computer failure that affected several sectors around the world, delaying their journey to London by around two hours and causing them to miss their first connecting flight to the United States. Once in Tahiti it became clear that not all the team’s luggage had accompanied them… (hopes are that the rest of the bags will arrive on today’s flight, says Raimundo).
