Suspects broke into and stole from several cars near beaches
Three men have been arrested in Portimão for breaking into and stealing from cars parked near beaches in the Algarve, GNR police have announced.
The arrests followed a police investigation into a series of cars that had been broken near beaches across the region, which allowed GNR police to track down the suspects who were in possession of “materials used to commit these kinds of thefts” as well as “a variety of stolen items”.
Following the arrests, which took place between Monday and Wednesday (July 22-24), a house search warrant was issued, leading to the confiscation of a vehicle, a camera, six mobile phones, four computers, a drone, €950 in cash, 15 Canadian dollars, 56 American dollars, two watches and “several electronic components.”
The three men who were arrested, aged between 27 and 50, were due to appear before a judge at Lagos’ criminal court, while two other people were named defendants (arguidos).
