Prime minister Luís Montenegro has announced a major increase to the ‘military condition supplement’ (a sum awarded to all military personnel in the Armed Forces) and up till now fixed at €100. Following today’s Council of Ministers, dedicated to defence, the supplement will increase “with immediate effect” to €200, rising annually by €50 until January 2026. Announcing the increase, Mr Montenegro said: “It’s a historic day for the Armed Forces”.
