Tutti Frutti – a long-running investigation into suspicions of corruption, once dubbed ‘Tutti Corrupti’ – has now got another official suspect: Fernando Medina, former mayor of Lisbon and most recently the Socialist Finance minister under António Costa. Mr Medina was made an arguido due to suspicions of the crime of prevarication while he was mayor of Lisbon. He has described himself today as perplexed that the situation should arise now, after so many years, considering it a “gross and inexplicable mistake” of public prosecutors.
