Burger King to open 50 new outlets by 2025, creating 1,200 more jobs

Burger King in Portugal has announced plans to complete by 2025 its three-year plan to open 50 new restaurants, having already started recruiting for more than 300 vacancies out of an estimated total of 1,200 more jobs. The chain has already tripled its size in the country since 2015. Burger King was sold by Ibersol to Restaurant Brands Iberia (RB Iberia) in 2022, in a deal valued at €260 million. Even before the Competition Authority gave the green light for the deal, RB Iberia had already announced its intention to expand its activity in Portugal, with planned investment of €150 million. The company currently has 4,500 workers, of whom 65% are aged under 30. It says that the planned new restaurant openings should create around 1,200 jobs in various positions “ranging from restaurant manager, shift manager, home delivery coordinator, to distributors and operators.”
