Weekend of live music, DJ sets and religious festivities in Carvoeiro

Carvoeiro Beach Party marks end of summer

Carvoeiro’s religious celebrations in honour of Our Lady of Incarnation (Nossa Senhora da Encarnação) are returning this weekend with several exciting festivities spearheaded by the town’s Carvoeiro Beach Party.

Acting as the last big summer party in Carvoeiro, the event will feature entertainment by Bruno Zarra, DJ Pette, John Goulart and Davon Goodchild, who promise to keep the party going late into Saturday night (August 24).

Organised by the Lagoa and Carvoeiro parish union, the Carvoeiro Beach Party will begin at 8pm and run until 3am. Admission is free.

The party is part of the borough’s religious Nossa Senhora da Encarnação festivities, whose religious side will begin on Saturday with an evening Mass starting at 5.30pm at the Nossa Senhora da Encarnação chapel in Carvoeiro.

A second Mass is planned for Sunday at 6.30pm at the same chapel, followed by a procession in which the image of the local patron saint will be paraded through the town’s streets.

The festivities will come to an end with live music performances by local artists, including the town’s iconic afro-donning percussionist and singer Beto Kalulu, at 9.30pm at the beachside square.
