Tavira farm visits promote organic farming

On September 7 and 8, the Revitalgarve Project is organising visits for the entire community, especially families.

The Revitalgarve Project is organising farm visits and farm product tastings as part of the 10th Mediterranean Diet Fair, which will be held in Tavira between September 5 and 8.

The event is open to the community and aims to demonstrate the importance of using sustainable production methods to produce seasonal and sustainable foods that are more resilient to climate change. Such methods will contribute to reducing the carbon footprint and increasing short agri-food circuits and the Mediterranean food pattern.

The visit on September 6, which will take place at the Quinta Maria Flaminga, is primarily aimed at farmers and professionals. Its theme is “Sustainability of Biological Production” and is guided by Engineer António Marreiros and Engineer João Cassinello from the CCDR Algarve (Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission).

On September 7 and 8 (Saturday at the Quinta Monte do Álamo and Sunday at the Horta do Cabeço), between 09h30 and 11h00, visits are aimed at the entire community, especially families. Activities will include visits to agricultural plantations and tastings of farm products.

The number of participants is limited to a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 15 people per visit, and registrations must be made here by September 3.

The complete visit programme is available here.
