Where to sleep, where to eat, what activities to do? From now on, the Via Algarviana offers all the information necessary to easily plan a walking holiday in the Algarve.
The Via Algarviana has just launched a Certified Partner Network. Available online in the new “Booking” section of the Via Algarviana website and app, this novelty functionality responds to the growing number of walkers and cyclists seeking out the Algarve’s interior every year.
In its first phase, the network brings together 40 local companies and small businesses that provide services in the Via Algarviana territory, including accommodation, food, transport, activities, local commerce and tour operators.
The project launched yesterday aims to develop the local economy by putting companies and their potential customers in direct contact. It is an essential step towards fulfilling one of Via Algarviana’s main objectives: promoting sustainable development in low-density territories in the interior of the Algarve.
Contributing to sustainable tourism
All partners involved share the values of defending local natural and cultural heritage, one of the network’s pillars. By booking with these partners, visitors know they are contributing to sustainable tourism and benefiting the communities that host them. In return, they experience greater proximity to local people and culture, enjoy unique and genuine experiences, and have a deeper knowledge of the territory.
How to book with Via Algarviana partners?
With the network’s launch, the Via Algarviana website features a new “Booking” section. Here, users can choose what they want – accommodation, transport, local commerce, etc. –consult available partners and then contact them directly to request more information or hire a service. You can even choose to navigate an interactive map, where you can easily find which partners you will encounter along the way. This functionality is also available on the Via Algarviana app.
Participating companies can identify themselves through a Via Algarviana “partnership seal” – a graphic image that allows visitors to recognise them.
A Growing Network
Yesterday’s launch is just the first step for the Via Algarviana Certified Partner Network. Several other companies will join in the coming months, completing and reinforcing the offer throughout the territory.
In the short term, training sessions are planned for participating partners to invest in the quality of the ecotourism offers. Partners will also lead environmental and social volunteering actions, thus actively defending this territory.
How can companies join?
Companies interested in joining the network can visit the Via Algarviana website to learn more about the project and contact the Via Algarviana management team at viaalgarviana@viaalgarviana.org
