Naked man running through area of Porto with ‘sharp object’ causes momentary panic

A naked man, runnning through the Cordoaria neighbourhood of Porto caused a degree of panic over the weekend as he appeared to be holding a ‘sharp object’ in one of his hands which locals mistook for a knife. It turned out that the ‘sharp object’ was a metallic pipe, used for consuming drugs, writes Correio da Manhã; another news source talks of a syringe. The man is understood to have been known to suffer from mental issues. PSP police intervened and he was eventually transported to a hospital unit.
