Two Portuguese emigrés on holiday in Madeira cited for the fire that raged for almost two weeks

Two Portuguese emigrés on holiday in Madeira have been made official suspects in the investigation into the causes of the fire that ravaged the island for over 10 days this month. It is not a case of intentional arson, more of negligence. PJ police have deduced that the fire began following the launching of fireworks (during a local festa). For now, the emigrés have not been presented before a magistrate, or even ‘arrested’. They have been identified, and ‘constituted official suspects’ (arguidos).
