Brand-new circus acts come to Portimão

As part of the city’s 100th-anniversary celebrations, French artist Chloé Moglia will showcase her talent in “Horizon” and “La Spire” on September 20 and 21.

To mark the centenary of Portimão’s city status, September will be filled with performances, including the new circus acts “Horizon” and “La Spire”, exhibitions of marionettes, puppets, and dolls from St. Aleixo, and the display of the winning works from the 24th Photographic Race.

On September 20 and 21, French artist Chloé Moglia will showcase her talent in two distinct performances, drawing all the attention with the grandeur of the new circus. Both shows are free to attend and organised by Rhizome company.

According to the Portimão City Council, the solo exhibition “Horizon” by Chloé will take place at 19h00 on both days on Portimão’s riverfront. In this performance, “Chloé suspends herself and the environment around her to inspire a new viewpoint, leaving only her body, a metallic structure, air, and gravity”.

The performance “La Spire” will involve five women on an immense, light, and grand spiral structure, forming three loops, 7 metres wide and 18 metres long. Within this space, the women will establish connections and invent games. This show can be seen from 21h30 on Praça 1º de Maio, in front of the City Hall building.
