Upwards of 144 car owners who returned from abroad to find the carpark where they had left their vehicles had suffered a catastrophic fire are back in the news this week, demanding justice. According to reports “no one is assuming responsibility for this situation” – given that the blaze is believed to have started in one of the parked cars (an electric car). Says SIC Notícias, “what most upsets the victims most is the lack of communication, either from the owners of the carpark, or the insurance companies”. And, as we mentioned in our early story on this incident, the source of the fire appears to have become a ‘taboo’.
