A new concept restaurant has opened at the Algarve’s iconic Vale do Lobo resort. SMASH is a light-filled, family-focused eatery offering feelgood vibes to all who visit it. The flexible venue, located overlooking the tennis courts at Vale do Lobo’s Tennis Academy, has been designed to appeal to all. SMASH combines a bright, inviting atmosphere with a menu focused on health, nutrition, and flavour.
At SMASH, diners can explore a diverse range of dishes across three distinct menu themes: Very Healthy, Very Nutritive, and Very Tasty. This flexible approach allows guests to tailor their dining experience to their preferences, whether they’re after a nutritious meal or a delightful treat. The restaurant also features a special children’s menu, complete with an artisan ice cream counter that’s sure to be a hit with the younger guests. In addition to health-conscious options, SMASH offers crowd-pleasers like pizzas, burgers, and pasta, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
The interior of SMASH reflects the natural, wholesome ethos of its menu. With terracotta flagstones on the outdoor patio facing the tennis courts and an eclectic mix of solid wooden chairs, the design incorporates natural materials throughout. The space exudes a cool, contemporary Mediterranean vibe, accentuated by wood, rattan, straw, and lush plants that create a soothing, sensory-rich environment.
SMASH offers several distinct areas for dining. The outdoor patio provides a serene, zen-like atmosphere featuring an authentic Portuguese fountain. Inside, diners can enjoy a cosy setting with a beautifully refurbished fireplace.
The dining spaces at the Tennis Academy cater to every occasion, whether you’re grabbing breakfast, enjoying a quick drink, indulging in a leisurely family meal, or unwinding after a tennis match, workout or swim. Open daily from 8 am to 11 pm, the menus are thoughtfully designed to appeal to a range of tastes.
Recent upgrades at the Tennis Academy include a new swimming pool, additional deck areas, sunbeds, parasols, and five new family-centric zones with Balinese beds and settees.
