An extraordinary Council of Ministers to be chaired by President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, has been scheduled for 6pm today, to analyse “the whole situation regarding the fires and their consequences”. The invitation to the president was made by prime minister Luís Montenegro, a note from the PM’s office has explained. The PM has meantime cancelled his agenda until Friday, due to the fires, and postponed a PSD congress due to have taken place at the weekend.
