A second plane evacuating Portuguese nationals and their families from war-torn Lebanon arrived at Figo Maduro airport in Lisbon last night. The Air Force C130 aircraft repatriated a group of 41 as Israel’s bombardments and deployment of troops has already displaced over one million people, not to mention the many hundreds already killed. Yesterday’s evacuees included eight children, as well as citizens from São Tomé e Príncipe, Brazil, Angola, Russia, France and Spain. Last Sunday, the first flight of purely Portuguese nationals and their families arrived in Figo Maduro following evacuation via Cyprus.
