Portimão celebrates 100th anniversary with “100 flavours”

Between October 11 and November 10, the city is organising “100 Years 100 Flavours”, a gastronomical itinerary that will take locals and visitors across the Municipality’s iconic flavours.

As part of the ongoing celebrations of its 100th anniversary, the city of Portimão is organising yet another fun and tasty activity for all. Between October 11 and November 10, “100 Years 100 Flavours” will take foodies on an itinerary through the streets and alleys of Portimão, Praia da Rocha, and Alvôr with the help of a special guide.

“This culinary itinerary aims to provide locals and visitors alike with gastronomic experiences that will transport them through the Algarve’s traditions and the multiculturalism that is a feature of our modern society”, says the organisation.

Up to 100 establishments throughout the Municipality of Portimão are participating in this one-off event. These are listed in the guide, which can be purchased at the Teia D’Impulsos facilities at the Espaço Raíz, Portimão’s Tourist Office and the Portimão Museum for €1.5. This amount will go entirely towards solidarity initiatives in the city of Portimão.

With the guide in hand, participants can set off to discover the city’s iconic restaurants, which mark the history of its gastronomy and the latest establishments that will dictate its future with innovation.

Each establishment will present a special menu ranging from a Chef’s menu (starter, dish and drink) for €15 or tasting menu (starter, dish and drink) for €10, to a sweet menu (sweet and drink) for €4.

Participants collect stamps in their guidebooks for every establishment they visit. By collecting five stamps from various locations, participants then have the chance to win prizes from the “100 Flavours” selection, such as boat trips and paintball sessions.

On top of the special menus and prizes, the guide also offers discounts in various establishments such as Villa Prana in Portimão and Golfland in Alvor.

A fun and tasty way to discover the Municipality of Portimão.
