PJ police arrest suspect for last week’s triple homicide in Lisbon

Exactly one week since the triple homicide in a barber’s shop in Bairro do Vale, Penha de França, Lisbon, police have arrested the main suspect, Fernando Silva. In a statement today, the force said that “since the first moment” investigators have been working “incessantly” on gathering information which ultimately led them to locate Silva. The PJ has stressed the ‘support of Silva’s family members’ in their endeavours. Silva, 33, will now be taken before a magistrate for initial questioning, after which terms he will either be remanded in custody (as a flight risk) or given some form of bail. He was arrested in the area south of Lisbon known as the ‘margem sul’.
