Four arrested in major drug dealing crackdown in Olhão

Operation to crackdown on Olhão drug dealing has seen four people arrested so far

PSP police have announced the arrest of four people – three men and one woman, aged between 37 and 54 – in Olhão since September 30 as part of a major crackdown on drug dealing.

The investigation has already led to the confiscation of a substantial amount of illegal substances and several items linked to criminal activities. Following search warrants issued by judicial authorities, the police force seized a wide range of narcotics, including over 739 individual doses of heroin, 521 doses of hashish, and 54 doses of cocaine. Additionally, over 11 grams of marijuana were seized.

The operation also uncovered over €1,000 in cash, as well as 10 mobile phones, a car, a motorcycle, and weapons. Among the weapons seized were a 6.35mm firearm – “fully loaded and ready to fire at the time of its discovery,” PSP police say – as well as ammunition—35 rounds of 12-gauge shotgun shells and 10 rounds for the 6.35mm firearm. Police also confiscated two knives, a set of brass knuckles, and a defensive spray.

Of the four individuals detained, one has been placed in preventive custody, while the other has been required to report weekly to authorities. The remaining two suspects are still awaiting their court hearing.
