Man wanted by German authorities arrested in Lagos

PJ police have arrested a foreign man in Lagos, Algarve wanted by German authorities for his alleged involvement in drug trafficking and organised crime.

The 43-year-old man had been on the run since 2017, after a police operation uncovered a marijuana plantation in the apartment he shared with a roommate. He was convicted in 2020 but had managed to avoid capture until now, the police force said in a statement.

The man will now appear before the Évora Court of Appeal, which will decide what legal steps to take next.
