A 62-year-old man has been arrested by PJ police suspected of having started the largest forest wildfire so far this year. The fire, started in September at a point when multiple fires broke out in the north and centre of the country, consumed over 1,080 hectares of land. It began close to an import export business in Sabrosa de Aguiar, in Vila Pouca de Aguiar, which ended up being completely consumed by the flames. The fire went on to damage a number of properties and businesses, causing panic and mass evacuations. The man is due to be presented before a magistrate today.
