Public prosecutor’s office opens case against CHEGA leaders for incitement to hatred

The Public Prosecutions Office is investigating CHEGA leader André Ventura, the party’s parliamentary leader Pedro Pinto and an advisor, Ricardo Reis, for incitement to hatred following comments all three have made in the wake of the PSP killing of a civilian in the problematic neighbourhood of Cova da Moura, in the early hours of Monday. The crime of incitement to hatred carried a prison term of up to five years.
