Portugal’s president, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, will attend the 29th Ibero-American Summit in Cuenca, Ecuador, in mid-November, according to a letter sent to parliament requesting authorisation for this trip. This will effectively be the last meeting of heads of state and government of the Ibero-American community during Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa’s presidency, which ends 2026. And it will be the first with America under a new president, following the much-awaited elections on November 5.
