Sun and sea tourism between Melides and Tróia, in Grândola – introduced to the world when Madonna galloped on horseback across the sands of Comporta in 2018 – will lose around 7,000 beds programmed in new projects to avoid massification and remain more nature tourism focused, reports Jornal de Notícias. The measure comes as part of the amendment to the Municipal Master Plan (PDM), “with the aim of curbing accelerated and disorderly growth and promoting balanced and sustainable nature tourism between the interior and the beach”, mayor António Figueira Mendes has told the paper.
