Portugal’s women’s football team qualified for the final phase of the European Championship finals for the third time in a row after beating Czechia 2-1 in Teplice in the second leg of the final qualifying play-off.
Having previously drawn 1-1 at FC Porto’s Estádio do Dragão stadium, Portugal secured their place in the 2025 finals by beating the Czechs with a brace of goals from Diana Silva, assisted by Joana Marchão, in the 13th and 76th minutes. The Czechs responded with a penalty from Katerina Svitkova in the 35th minute.
Portugal had previously qualified for the European Championship finals of 2017 and 2022.
The Euro 2025 will take place in Switzerland from July 2 to 27, 2025. The draw is scheduled for December 16 in Lausanne.
