The Portuguese palaces of Pena and Sintra in the Lisbon area will host night visits on Fridays and Saturdays, as part of the programme celebrating the 30th anniversary of the classification of the Cultural Landscape as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, it was announced on Wednesday.
According to Parques de Sintra, the entity that manages these monuments, the opening of the celebrations – with a special programme of events organised in conjunction with the Sintra city council and the Cultursintra Foundation – takes place exactly one year before the classification.
Tickets for both visits cost a symbolic €1 and are sold exclusively at the Parques de Sintra online ticket office.
