Lagos invests €1 million in new fibre optic infrastructure

The municipal council of Lagos is set to invest approximately €1 million in fibre optic infrastructure to improve communication between municipal buildings and services, provide free public internet access, and enable the future installation of a surveillance system linked to local police. This initiative, approved in a recent council meeting, aims to “improve public safety, support Smart Mobility, Smart Tourism, and Smart Living technologies, and ensure greater efficiency in public management,” the council says.
