Portimão street closes for vibrant urban festival

InDireita Street Fest returns for second edition on December 22

Portimão’s busy Rua Direita will close on Sunday, December 22 for the InDireita Street Fest, an outdoor urban festival which aims to bring life to the town centre.

The first edition, held in September, was hailed a success by P.O.I.S! – Palco das Ondas Invisíveis Studio, the association which organises the event.

Due to take place between 10am and 10pm, the festival will feature a wide range of entertainment, from live music and dance performances, graffiti displays and skateboarding to stalls selling snacks and handicraft. Other “larger surprises” are also promised for this sophomore edition.

Craftspeople and local producers interested in exhibiting at the event can still sign up by emailing the event’s organiser at indireitastreetfest@gmail.com.

The event is backed by the Portimão municipal council and parish council, as well as the Portimão skate group Núcleo de Skate de Portimão.
