Netherlands and Portugal sign declaration to boost cooperation

Portugal’s president, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, on Wednesday highlighted the “joint declaration on strengthening strategic and European cooperation” signed by the Dutch and Portuguese governments during his state visit to the Netherlands.

The two governments also signed an “agreement on the exchange and mutual protection of classified information”.

By signing the joint declarations, both countries reaffirmed “their firm intention to continue the European project, namely the maintenance of peace, stability and citizens’ property, always guided by the values of the Union, fundamental rights, democracy and the rule of law”.
