Portimão hosts red-carpet screening of pilot episode “Cold Mind” endorsed by RTP2

“The mix of Portuguese and international flavours in the show fits well with our programming strategy” – Teresa Paixão, RTP2

Spy Manor Productions, a Portuguese-based filmmaking company, unveiled the “long-awaited” pilot episode of the mini-TV series “Cold Mind”, last Saturday, December 14.

The pilot was screened privately for the production crew, cast, and the various partners and supporters of the project.

The screening took place at the Algarcine cinema in Portimão and was positively received by the audience.

During the Q&A session that followed, moderated by Simon Moulson, editor of Lifestyle Portugal magazine, the executive producer and producer of the series, Vanda Everke, shared her vision for the show’s global appeal: “We are tapping into a very well-established and beloved genre of crime, infusing it with technological aspects that are both relevant and timely for today’s society. The series is full of unexpected twists and showcases a variety of locations, keeping it dynamic and fresh.”

Teresa Paixão, RTP2’s Director, attended the screening and expressed her gratitude and enthusiasm for bringing the show to the channel’s programming. “The mix of Portuguese and international flavours in the show fits well with our programming strategy. We are excited to introduce a fresh and educational portrayal of how technology impacts society, raising audience awareness of current and emerging trends,” shared Teresa Paixão.

The private screening, set in a festive and vibrant atmosphere, highlighted the Algarve’s growing potential as a destination for international filmmaking. Following the disruptions caused by last year’s Hollywood writers’ and actors’ strikes, “Cold Mind” enters the market at a highly relevant time.

UK director Simon Hunter believes this, along with the carefully selected cast including Niamh McCormack, currently working on Netflix’s House of Guinness, and Tim Fellingham, starring in Netflix’s docudrama Wyatt Earp and the Cowboy War, positions “Cold Mind” for global success.
