Registry office workers start two-week strike

Portugal’s registry office workers began a two-week strike called by the National Union of Registries (SNR) today in protest over the lack of dialogue with the government, against pay disparities and  the hiring of additional workers. The strike began at midnight on Sunday and will runs until midnight on January 3, affecting all central services and external services, including Citizen’s Shops, of the Institute of Registry and Notary Services (IRN) and in the central and external services of the Regional Directorates for the Administration of Justice in Portugal’s autonomous regions of Madeira and the Azores.
