Portugal’s PJ judicial police took part in an Interpol operation, carried out between July and December this year, aimed at capturing many of the most dangerous fugitives in Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe. It resulted in the arrest of 58 high-risk criminals and the location of a further 28. Said the PJ in a statement released today: “Through the Criminal Intelligence Unit, the PJ located and arrested one of these fugitives in the north of the country, out of a total of 150 with an Interpol red alert, some of whom have been wanted for 15 years for crimes such as murder, rape, money laundering and organised crime”.
