GNR agent injured when driver flees Operation Stop

A GNR agent was injured yesterday after a 57-year-old driver fled an Operation Stop by driving straight at him. The incident, during a GNR operation in Trofa, ended with the rogue driver being pursued by other agents, in a patrol car, helped by colleagues from nearby Matosinhos . The driver was eventually arrested. He has been described as a man without a licence, driving on false matriculation plates and ‘known for this type of crime’. He is due to appear in court today. The GNR agent has received treatment in hospital for injuries to his legs.
