PJ celebrates another hefty seizure of cocaine

The PJ’s National Unit for Combating Drug Trafficking is celebrating yet another hefty seizure of cocaine, after confiscating around three and a half tonnes of it discovered ‘hidden in pallets of boxed bananas’ on a cargo ship that usually transports fruit between Latin America and Europe. The drugs were destined for various European countries. The police operation had collaboration and support from the UK’s National Crime Agency, and Lisbon’s Maritime Analysis and Operations Centre Narcotics – MAOC (N). From here, investigations will continue “in cooperation with other countries”, said the PJ in a statement.
