Free incontinence supplies for economically disadvantaged in 2025

Starting January 1, 2025, people with more than 60% disability and documented economic hardship will have access to free incontinence supplies, including diapers, pads, and briefs, through Portugal’s National Health Service (SNS).

Previously, eligible individuals were required to purchase these products at market prices and later apply for partial reimbursement. The new policy eliminates upfront costs, simplifying access and providing immediate relief.
