Portugal’s health ministry has announced in a statement today that the SNS public health system will maintain training capacity for specialist doctors by opening, until 2028, 350 annual vacancies for senior graduate assistants. “In other words, 1,400 more vacancies” than would have been opened otherwise. The announcement follows the agreement signed on December 30 with SIM, that has been denounced by the much larger union structure, FNAM, has a “betrayal of all doctors in the SNS health service” (see brief below).
