Ceramics workshop reveals ancestral art in Tavira

The workshop will take place in three sessions at the Núcleo Islâmico on January 11, February 8, and March 8.

As part of the exhibition «From Clay to the Potter’s Wheel: The Ceramics of Rua das Olarias», on display at the Núcleo Islâmico, the Municipal Museum of Tavira invites everyone to experience the art of ceramics in a practical and creative workshop.

Under the guidance of ceramist Mário Mendonça, this workshop will take place in three sessions at the Núcleo Islâmico (Praça da República, Tavira) on January 11, February 8, and March 8, from 10h to 13h.

Participants will learn techniques for modelling and creating ceramic pieces in the first two sessions (January and February). The final session, in March, will be dedicated to painting the works produced, which will later be cooked in the ceramist’s studio.

This creative journey offers an opportunity to discover Tavira’s archaeological heritage and experience one of humanity’s oldest artisanal expressions: the art of pottery.

Participation is free, limited to 20 participants, with a minimum age of 13, upon registration via the following link:https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1qYIaZCbcGgANXmDYi-JPn1E8vXeH49xGp47FFR4jATo/edit?pli=1
