The 24-year-old believed to have been the author of the shots fired at people outside Viseu’s Palácio de Gelo shopping mall just after Christmas has handed himself into police. He has no criminal antecedents but belongs to a family that has had a long running feud with members of the family which he is understood to have shot at on December 27, killing a 44-year-old woman outright, and injuring two others. The young man is due to be presented in court this afternoon, facing charges of murder, attempted murder, and possession of a prohibited weapon.
