Custódio has over 30 years of experience in the tourism and hospitality sectors
Mário Custódio has been announced as the new General Manager of Domes Lake Algarve – Autograph Collection, the only resort operated by the Greek luxury hotel group Domes outside of Greece.
With over 30 years of experience in the tourism and hospitality sectors, Custódio will now lead the luxury resort at Praia da Falésia in Vilamoura after several experiences at other resorts in the region.
Before joining Domes, he spent nearly two years as Cluster Manager at Highgate Portugal. His impressive career includes leadership roles at Tivoli Hotels & Resorts and Minor Hotels, managing properties such as Tivoli Carvoeiro, Tivoli Palácio de Seteais, and Tivoli Victoria. He also served as General Manager at EPIC SANA Algarve and Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa.
Feeling “honoured” to take on this new role, Custódio said he aims to work towards ensuring that “every area of the resort continues to be known for its innovation, but above all else its genuine hospitality, attention to detail and distinction, marking our ambition to be the best hotel in the Algarve.”
He highlighted his vision to blend the resort’s international brand identity with the best elements of the Algarve region by focusing on authentic experiences and collaborating with local producers.
A graduate in Hotel Management from the Estoril Higher Institute for Tourism and Hotel Studies, Custódio has also completed a postgraduate program in Hospitality at the Faro School of Hospitality and Tourism and an executive course in Luxury Brand Management at ISEG.
“Our location in Vilamoura near golf courses, the marina and the beach, as well as our lake and pools, allows us to create exclusive moments throughout the 365 days of the year, which enables us to maintain permanent teams, a key factor in building a culture of excellent service,” added the new GM at Domes Lake Algarve, awarded in the Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence in 2023 as one of the best hotels in Europe and the Mediterranean.
