The association, set within the walls of Lagos’s former jail, is celebrating its 30th anniversary with an eclectic entertainment programme for all ages.
On January 17 and 18, starting at 18h00, LAC will open its doors for another edition of LAC Open Day in the old Lagos jail to celebrate the association’s 30th anniversary.
This is already the 22nd edition of the event, a benchmark in the Algarve and national scene. This year, it promises a unique programme celebrating three decades of dedication to culture and contemporary art.
LAC Open Day will introduce the public to the dynamics of the association and the artists’ work in residence, including individual and collective projects in visual and performing arts (music).
The two-day event will feature an eclectic programme aimed at different age groups. It will include concerts, exhibitions, installations, workshops, and film screenings, among other free activities.
“This commemorative edition will be a milestone for the Association, reflecting its trajectory and impact on the artistic and cultural community”, says the association.
Founded in 1995 and based in the old Lagos jail, LAC is a cultural association that develops activities in the fields of Creation, with artist residencies; Programming, with national and international exhibitions, concerts and conferences; and Training for its Audience, promoting workshops for the community in general and schools in particular.
Throughout its 30 years of existence, the association has established itself as a reference. It is a member of RPAC – Rede Portuguesa de Arte Contemporânea (Portuguese Contemporary Art Network), funded by the Ministry of Culture/DGArtes, ALGARVE 2030 and the Municipality of Lagos.
