35 bikes were involved in the ride
The Algarve Senior Bikers (ASB) held their New Year’s ride on Tuesday, January 10.
It was an “excellent turnout” for the ASB with 35 bikes involved in the ride divided into three groups for safety reasons and out of consideration for other road users.
The members met in Boliqueime for a ride through the hills above Salir before descending down to Querença for a coffee break at the “always popular” café run by Dona Rosa in the square opposite the church.
After the break, the route took them towards the west and down through the pretty village of Alte and on cross-country to finish at O Foral restaurant with an “excellent lunch of red fish or chicken curry”.
The event was planned by David Shirley, ASB organiser, who led the first group, with the second and third groups led by Andrew Chilton and Roy West.
The next organised ride will be in February and details will be released soon after the annual planning meeting early next month.
