Financial aid to help VRSA firefighters with operational costs during 2025
Vila Real de Santo António has attributed a €472,000 subsidy to the Humanitarian Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Vila Real de Santo António and Castro Marim.
The financial aid will be used to help with the fire brigade’s operational costs during 2025, the municipal council said in a communiqué to the press.
The funding will directly support the operations of the volunteer fire brigade, which plays a critical role in delivering protection and rescue services in the areas of Vila Real de Santo António and Castro Marim. The protocol also ensures logistical support for the brigade under the Integrated System of Protection and Rescue Operations (SIOPS).
A key feature of the agreement is the continued operation of the Intermunicipal Civil Protection Centre. This facility provides round-the-clock emergency management and maintains a dedicated helpline, ensuring the community can access immediate assistance when needed.
“With this protocol, the municipality of Vila Real de Santo António reaffirms its commitment to the safety of the community, providing the necessary resources for an effective response to emergencies,” the council added.
