Bird flu detected again in Sintra

A new outbreak of bird flu has been confirmed in Sintra, on a small farm with chickens, ducks and geese. The authorities have already implemented control measures, such as disinfection and restricting movements, in a 10-kilometre surveillance zone. With thousands of birds having already been destroyed as a result of these outbreaks – and lucrative exports to Chinese territories suspended – authorities are currently asking for all poultry to remain confined to coops in mainland Portugal.
