Rolling Stones last performed in Portugal in 2014 at Rock in Rio Lisbon
The Rolling Stones are coming back to Portugal this May as part of their ‘Hackney Diamond’” European tour, according to Blitz Magazine.
Fans can reportedly mark their calendars for May 20, though the exact venue for the Lisbon concert is yet to be confirmed. Speculation suggests the show might take place at Estádio da Luz, the home stadium of SL Benfica.
The British rock icons, led by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, both now 81 years old, are expected to soon unveil the full itinerary for their European tour. Due to kick off in London, the tour will also include stops in Spain, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Denmark.
The upcoming concert marks the Stones’ first appearance in Portugal since their 2014 performance at Rock in Rio Lisbon.
Hackney Diamond is the name of the band’s 24th studio album, which was met with critical acclaim and even nominated for Best Rock Album at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards. The album reached number one in 20 countries, including the UK, Austria, Australia, Greece, Argentina, the Netherlands and Germany.
