Algarve 41 Club donates €500 to Madrugada end-of-life care

Madrugada was established in 2009 in response to limited choices for end-of-life care in the Algarve

Algarve 41 Club has recently donated €500 to Madrugada, an association providing end-of-life care in the Algarve.

Madrugada was established in February 2009 in response to limited choices for end-of-life care in the Algarve. Since then, it has developed home-based, end of life, palliative care. They are regarded highly by the families of those they have cared for in the Algarve and by those health professionals who have observed their care, often working closely with them to ensure patient comfort.

Madrugada’s services are in demand throughout the Algarve. Currently, it is able to offer full end-of-life care and support to those living in the Western Algarve. Further into the Central region, the association offers a slightly reduced service. It is their aim to expand their provision to ensure its availability across the region, giving equal access to all.

In a press statement, Algarve 41 Club explains: “Madrugada is a not-for-profit association. The average cost per 24 hours of end-of-life care provided is currently €500 including all costs. The ever pressing need to raise funds is second only to patient care and, without funds, there is no patient care.

“If you are able to support them by giving a donation or organising a charity event, they would be delighted to hear from you.” Visit: madrugada-portugal.com

With this donation, the Algarve 41 Club continues its support of local charities that are dedicated to providing much-needed services and assistance to residents.
