The Portuguese economy grew by 2.7% year-on-year and 1.5% quarter-on-quarter in the last quarter of 2024, registering Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth of 1.9% for the year as a whole, INE (statistics institute) announced today. The year-on-year growth of 2.7% in the fourth quarter of last year was 0.7 percentage points higher than in the previous quarter, while the 1.5% quarterly growth followed a 0.3% rise in the previous quarter. Volume growth of 1.9% for the whole of 2024, on the other hand, represents a slowdown compared to the 2.5 % increase recorded in 2023.
