Raríssimas – the association supporting citizens with rare diseases – is reportedly on the brink of bankruptcy due to the government refusing its latest request for financial support. The request was for over a million euros – and most of the money would have gone to ‘financially balancing the association’. Observador explains that the government has refused to pump more money into Raríssimas, as it appears to view ‘financial support’ as a constant, to be relied on: there have been seven previous requests, all granted.
