Arade Challenge will feature swimming, running and canoeing
The 2025 edition of the Arade Challenge will take place in Lagoa on Saturday, February 15 and Sunday, February 16.
The triathlon event includes swimming, running and canoeing for both male and female participants across multiple age categories, with a total prize pool of €1,000 up for grabs.
Race distances will vary according to the age groups. The under-14 and Masters +55 age categories will swim for 200m, run for 1,500m and canoe for 2,500m, while the under-14, Absolutes (all ages welcome) and Masters 40-54 will swim for 300m, run for 3,000m and canoe for 5,000m.
The winners of the Absolutes category will win €50 for each stage of the triathlon (swimming, running and canoeing), while the overall male and female winners will win €200 (first place), €100 (second) and €50 (third).
Meanwhile, under-14s and under-16s will receive free tickets to the Slide&Splash waterslide park in Lagoa.
To be eligible for any awards, athletes must complete all three disciplines.
The swimming events will take place at Lagoa’s municipal pools at 2.30pm on Saturday, February 15, while the running events will be held on Sunday, February 16, at 9.30am, at the Castores do Arade facilities at Centro Náutico da Mexilhoeira da Carregação, followed immediately by the canoeing events at 11am.
