Members of the Board of Directors of the Amadora/Sintra Local Health Unit have today submitted their resignations to the Minister of Health and the executive director of the SNS national health service, having inferred yesterday that they would remain in office. The resignation “will allow the ministry to implement the measures and policies it deems necessary” with the board not being an “obstacle”, a statement by the board has explained. The issues at Amadora-Sintra are intrinsically linked to the mass-walkout of surgeons recently, over the return of two ‘whistleblowers’.
